about this piece
A lot of people chuckle and say something like "You are what you eat huhu" when they see this drawing. A phrase whose meaning has truly been bastardized beyond recognition. It's rather more about just not eating at all, and how our emotional baggage gets embedded in our bodies and can have physical effects on our health, our relationship with food, our habits good and bad, and so on.
Food is about more than just building us like legos. How we feel about food, our digestion, and our hunger play such huge parts in our overall health and diet. How we feel about life in general, our self-worth, our place in oppressive systems, and our right to pleasure heavily affect our relationship with food and our bodies. I think this drawing is a sign of the first time I was starting to really consider my sickly state and realize I had to fix something, someday, but still wasn't ready to start right away.
