Medium: Wacom Intuos tablet in Krita digital art software.
about this piece
One of my first digital drawings. Meant to be more of a sketch than a polished piece, hence some parts are obviously underdeveloped. I recently bought a really basic digital tablet and it's the first one I've had in, I don't know, 15 years? Anyway it's real good and I'm learning how to use Krita, a free open source digital art program. I guess I have to admit that I didn't get into digital art sooner probably in large part due to simple snobbery; digital art is (or was) considered a lowbrow medium, and not something that would ever be shown professionally. People like to see "originals" up on display at shows and events. Analog art media adds some kind of air of legitimacy that I wanted on some level. I also didn't want to be one of those folks who felt awkward drawing with pencil and paper because they mostly learned in digital.
But good news! That mindset is behind me now and I've been 100% Wacom-pilled. OwO I'm sure I'll do physical art still but there are a lot of obvious benefits to digital that are hard to achieve in physical media, convenience being a big one. I can just bust out my laptop and work for a while and then put it away, instead of having to get out my pencils and sketchpad and markers and *shudder* clean my paint palettes and set up a painting and then make sure I don't leave my paints out on my palette and give myself a huge mess to clean up later and prevent myself from painting. *shrug*
Anyway here's a new naked white woman for your entertainment.
